Our clinic is pleased to offer puppy preschool classes; these are a must for anyone wanting to promote development of their puppy into becoming a happy, well balanced and obedient dog. The classes are designed for puppies at a starting age of between 8 to16 weeks old.
Why do Puppy Preschool?
Puppy preschool is crucial for puppies to become well adjusted adult dogs. Each year dogs are euthanased due to issues which could have been prevented had they been taught appropriate behaviour and training. Puppy preschool is a starting point in creating a happy dog but unfortunately, due to vaccination regimes, it is often hard to do this safely. Our aim is to help you to do this in a safe and controlled environment. Our classes are kept small enough so that each owner and puppy gets the individual attention that they require to succeed.
What does it cover?
The course runs for a total of four weeks on a Monday or Tuesday evening from 6.30pm – 7.30pm, commencing the first week of the month. We use positive reinforcement in our classes and cover areas such as socialization, obedience, basic commands and behavioural issues. The topics we cover include dentistry, parasites, life after puppy preschool and more. The main aim is to ensure that the needs of the puppy in regards to socialization are met plus it’s also a fun way to get together and share ideas. We are more than happy to help our students outside of puppy preschool hours with any problems and are also able to do a bit of one on one with any stubborn puppies if necessary -bookings are essential.
